Sales People

Don't you hate when sales people call you or knock on your door? I can deal with the girl-scouts knocking on my door, but if you are middle aged man trying to sell me something I don't need, you are definitely barking up the wrong tree.

It's gotten so bad some of my neighbors have actually put "No Soliciting" signs on their front door. I wouldn't go that far.

What blows my mind the most is how rude some of these people are. You would think that if your livelihood depended on convincing people to purchase something, you would at least be pleasant towards the customer. *** NEWS FLASH *** I will not purchase anything from someone who is annoying the living shit out of me and acting like a jerk towards me. But what I will do is slam the door shut in your face or hang up the telephone in an instant.

The Subconscious Bias

Two men are having a casual conversation. One is 22 years old, attractive, lean and stands about 6 foot 4 inches tall. The other is in his thirties, not-so-attractive, medium build and stands about 5 foot 5 inches tall. The topic of physical appearance comes up and the tall man proclaims matter of factly, "You can be dumb as a bag of rocks, but if you look good on the outside, people are going to take you seriously and respect you." The short man sighs. Not less than 10 minutes later the two men are met by their colleagues. All conversation is directed at the tall man and the short man is completely ignored.
