Oh yes! Karma is most definitely a bitch!

The indictment was part of a wider grand jury investigation into the Police Department that was initiated in early August, said a spokesman for the State Attorney’s Office.

“The investigation is not concluded. It is continuing, and I expect it will continue for the next several weeks,” he said. He declined comment on any other issues being investigated.

Nostalgia

Flipping through old photographs, papers, and home movies recently, I can't help but become overcome with a sense of longing for the past. Long before I was Officer Matthew Campisi, I was little Matt Campisi riding his bicycle through the horse trails of a local park. Boy, do the years fly by fast. People come and go but those who are truly special remain. Times certainly have changed haven't they? I couldn't imagine living without a computer now. 25 years ago, if I wanted to jot down some thoughts for posterity, I'd write it in a journal. Today I have an online blog and my thoughts made viewable for any interested party anywhere in the world. It's times like these that I am reminded of Bernie's message, Please, cook the supreme meal he said.

My love/hate relationship with law enforcement

Those of you who know me, know that I have somewhat of a love/hate relationship when it comes to law enforcement. On the one hand, I do love the adrenalin rush of chasing after a bad-guy and slapping the handcuffs on someone who has just hurt someone or stolen something that someone has worked so very hard to attain. It really makes me feel awesome giving back to my community and helping my neighbors who are in need. --- On the other hand, the realities of everyday police work can definitely take there toll. I detest egotistical alpha males (and females) and this type reigns supreme in this line of work. I have witnessed some who have abused their authority, were downright ignorant, racist, corrupt, and dishonest. But not all of the guys are bad. Some are decent human beings who respect the communities that they serve and do a damn good job of keeping the streets safer. The public definitely under-appreciates the job that cops do and is sometimes quick to paint all cops with a very broad brush. Remember that cops are people too. They come in all colors, shapes, sizes, sexes, and not all of them think the same (as some of you may believe). There are even a few progressives mixed into the ranks...

McCain Counters Obama 'Arab' Question

I really commend McCain for conceding that Obama is a good man. I applaud McCain for correcting that bigot woman. These are the people who we should be very afraid of.

Vote Obama/Biden

The nagging question remains...What if Sarah Palin became President? Her performance at last night's debate really caused this question to eat away at me. While there is no doubt that her coaches were able to get her to a place where she could regurgitate prepared responses without looking completely foolish (i.e. Katie Couric interview)...Even at her seemingly best, I was very very frightened for America. She had a hard time answering many of the simple questions put forth. This person is not ready to be Secretary of Interior, let alone Vice-President of the United States. We HAVE to get this right America! My vote is for Obama/Biden.

Religulous

Religulous is a film directed by Larry Charles and starring American political comedian Bill Maher, host of Real Time With Bill Maher on HBO. According to Maher, the title of the film is a portmanteau derived from the words "religion" and "ridiculous," implying the satirical nature of the documentary that is meant to mock the concept of religion and the perceived problems it brings about
....Takes alot of chutzpa to make a movie like this. I haven't seen it so I will reserve my opinion until after I've had the chance.
